NimoHR Review: The Good & the Bad

Based in the Phoenix, Arizona area, NimoHR is a career services firm that specializes in resume writing, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, interview preparation, resume building tools, outplacement services, and recruitment solutions. While large resume companies have a network of big writers, NimoHR has a more boutique feel with a big emphasis on the HR perspective of the employer and recruiter in terms of resume strategy.

Our Rating

To assess NimoHR, we studied their resume writing services in four main categories: customer reviews, cost-to-value ratio, sample quality, and resume writers’ credentials. NimoHR is effective due to its HR-centric positioning, budget-friendly add-ons, ATS-focused integration, LinkedIn integration, interview preparation, and robust local review signals. There were, however, some limitations in this NimoHR Review. It seems to have a smaller footprint on the national review scene compared to the big resumes brands, and it doesn’t seem to be a done-for-you job application service like Boxresume.

How Much Does NimoHR Cost?

The cost of NimoHR is not so high as premium resume services. It currently offers entry level resumes for $229, mid/senior level resumes for $278 and executive level resumes for $329. The service list is separated out on the homepage and there is also a mid-senior service list at $279 available; customers should check the exact checkout cost before ordering. One of NimoHR’s advantages is its pricing. Even a resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile can be less expensive than many single-resume packages offered by the big boys. The service seems to be lacking however in providing full support for job applications (applications are submitted on the client’s behalf).

These are excellent indicators but as these are displayed on NimoHR’s own site, then job seekers should check the live review profiles before buying.
Platform Rating / Status Notes
Google Reviews 4.9 / 5 shown on NimoHR site Homepage displays 270 Google reviews; testimonials page displays 208 Google reviews.
Facebook Reviews 5 / 5 shown on NimoHR site Testimonials page lists 61 Facebook reviews.
Yelp Reviews 5 / 5 shown on NimoHR site Testimonials page lists 6 Yelp reviews.
Trustpilot / BBB Limited visibility NimoHR does not appear to have the same broad national review footprint as larger resume brands.
The overall feedback regarding NimoHR is positive. Abby’s resume writing, cover letter assistance, LinkedIn updates, responsiveness, and her ability to capture skills and strengths are all well-received by customers. Other reviews include interview calls, recruiter outreach, confidence, and better job search preparation following the use of NimoHR.

The Good

There are a number of strengths in NimoHR. NimoHR is HR-led. Abby Nimoh’s credentials include an MBA in Strategic Leadership, PHR, SHRM-CP, HR management certification and 15 years of HR experience. That’s because it provides a more employer-focused point of view than generic resume mills that simply format. Secondly, the prices won’t break the bank. Resume writing begins at $229, cover letter writing is $49 and LinkedIn optimization is $49. NimoHR is more accessible than services that charge $395, $479, $895 or more. Third, NimoHR has a definite focus on the ATS. According to its resume writing page, it enhances keywords to ensure resumes get through applicant tracking systems and formats them for readability. Fourthly, the service is more than resumes. The job seekers will be able to get LinkedIn optimization, cover letters, interview preparation, a resume builder toolkit and career guidance. Fifthly, the service is rather boutique. NimoHR seems more personal than the large resume factories that might resonate with job seekers that wish to receive direct assistance from someone with HR experience. Sixth, NimoHR’s inexpensive add-ons simplify the building of an extensive application package for job seekers without the need to shell out high prices.

The Bad

The highest drawback is that national reviews are not visible. NimoHR has good local review signals, but it doesn’t seem to be as widespread as companies with hundreds or thousands of credibility signals on Trustpilot, Reviews.io, Sitejabber or BBB. This could make comparison more difficult for buyers who heavily depend on third party review sites. A second constraint is that NimoHR’s best assertions are those from the companies. While the homepage shows 30+ industries covered, 53k resume reviews, and a high performance claim that they will help you get hired, job seekers should believe these words only if supported by other evidence. The pricing pages also have a minor glitch. The mid/senior level resume page is priced at $278, and the home page service section at $279. It’s a small detail but customers must double check the price at which the games are currently on sale before making a purchase. NimoHR also does not seem to provide a done-for-you service for submitting job applications as part of their main resume packages. Job seekers can receive better resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters and interview preparation, but they still have to apply and look for jobs. Last but not least, be sure to closely read the guarantee language. NimoHR does not guarantee a dream job, but promises to help and states in its FAQ that they refund the language if the service doesn’t work out for the client or if the client is not happy. Please check terms with the buyer before buying.

Is it Worth it?

For those who appreciate a niche resume service with an HR Manager at the helm, particularly ATS optimization, LinkedIn assistance, cover letters, interview prep and real-world job-search tips, NimoHR might be the right choice. It might be particularly attractive to individuals seeking work looking for a more hands-on experience from a large resume firm, or those who prefer to work with someone who knows the HR perspective of hiring. If you’re looking for a bigger national review footprint, transparent writer team details, package application assistance, or perhaps resume company that offers package options that are more scalable, however, NimoHR may not suit your needs. If you’re looking to get your resume optimized for ATS, LinkedIn optimized, cover letters, and job application assistance all in one place, then Boxresume is the better-value choice for job seekers.
