BoxResume began with a simple mission: helping a family member get noticed.

Michael’s brother, Moses, had applied for many roles but was not receiving interview invitations. When Michael reviewed his resume, he quickly realized the problem. The resume was weak, poorly structured, and did not clearly communicate Moses’ value. It was unlikely to hold a recruiter’s attention for even a few seconds.

Michael revamped the resume with a stronger structure, clearer positioning, better wording, and a sharper focus on achievements and value. Within a month, Moses began receiving multiple interview requests.

That moment revealed a bigger opportunity.

Soon after, Michael started helping friends, referrals, and other professionals who were struggling to present their experience effectively. What began as a personal act of support gradually became a mission to help more people build stronger professional brands and grow their careers one step at a time.

Around the same period, a church sermon on “thinking outside the box” inspired the name BoxResume. The name captured the heart of the brand: helping professionals move beyond ordinary resumes and present themselves in a more strategic, confident, and opportunity-ready way.

To strengthen his craft, Michael enrolled in two resume-mastery courses and earned certifications that sharpened his resume-writing skills. As demand grew, BoxResume began partnering with experienced career resume writers, including professionals who had worked for leading resume-writing companies in the United States. Pheny joined the team in 2021, helping strengthen the company’s operations and support its growing client base.

Five years later, BoxResume has grown into a dedicated career services company with 7 full-time professionals and 14 niche-specific freelance resume writers who join for industry-focused projects requiring deeper domain expertise.

From a single resume written for a brother to a growing global career brand, BoxResume continues to help professionals tell their stories more effectively, position their value clearly, and compete with confidence.
